Engagement & Wedding Day Questions
Do you offer engagement session photography? I absolutely do and I encourage it! It is an exciting time and it’s also a fun way to get to know each other and get you comfortable in front of my camera before the hustle and bustle of your wedding day. I will also include a wedding guest book with images produced during your session for guests to sign on your wedding day at no additional cost.
What do you wear? We want the focus to be on you so we will wear darker clothing. Dress pants with a button-down is our standard. However, I have been known to throw on a fun bowtie for a splash of color and it makes for a great conversation piece.
What do you suggest we wear for our engagement shoot? You are welcome to wear whatever you like… I recommend that you both wear something you feel comfortable and confident in. You don’t have to be completely matchy, however, I recommend complementary colors and patterns, you can also complement the season. You are welcome to bring a change of clothing so we can capture images with a different feel.
Do you charge for travel or multiple locations? I am always up for an adventure. Every wedding day is unique and some require more locations than others so we will absolutely accommodate different locations at no additional cost. If your wedding will be more than 75 miles from Buffalo, NY travel fees may apply. We can discuss the logistics during your planning meeting. Charges are determined based on my travel expenses and are evaluated on a case-by-case basis. We have extensive experience traveling and photographing destination weddings all around the world, so no worries, we will make it happen!
How many pictures do you take? More importantly, how many quality images do we deliver? On average, you will receive 80-100 images per hour of photography. You will have enough trouble narrowing down your favorites so I take out all the blinks, test shots, duplicates, etc. All of the images I deliver will be edited for color, exposure, and sharpness.
How much do you charge? We are proud to offer you the absolute best in photography and product; quality at the best value. Once we meet, I will be able to provide you with a customized estimate. However, to give you an idea, coverage starts at $2,400 and goes up from there depending on your individual needs. Most of my couples spend between $3,500- $4,500. This will give you full day coverage, an album or print box and access to your digital files.
How do we book you and what's your payment plan? To make sure that you snag us for your big day, we require a third of your estimate as a retainer and an electronically signed wedding contract. Another third is due 6 months before the big day and the balance is due 30 days before the wedding. We are flexible with breaking up payments along the way. If there is anything we can do to make it easier let us know and we will do our best to accommodate your needs to make this happen!
When will we get our pictures? Patience is a virtue… except when you are waiting for your wedding images. I understand how exciting this is for you both! I have been known to share a few sneak peek images within the first few days. Make sure you are also following us on our social media so we can tag you! To make sure we deliver the best quality images our turnaround time is approximately 3-4 weeks which is actually one of the fastest in the industry. Good things come to those who wait. I promise!
We love you, but will we love your 2nd photographer? Absolutely! You trust me with your big day so of course, I will only choose the best of best to work alongside me! I have very high standards with whom I choose to work with. They are all professional photographers as well as amazing artists. They represent my brand so we will keep a consistent vision throughout your day. You’re in good hands!
I've seen your pictures from a variety of weddings, but can we see a whole wedding day from start to finish? Of course, who wants to read the middle of the book? As wedding photographers we need to work fast and be able to adapt and excel in all scenarios. I pride myself in being able to do just that. This is a great question and I’m glad you’ve asked. After we meet and I have a better idea of your vision of your wedding day I will send you a few galleries to give an idea of what you can expect for your day.
I don’t want to spend an hour taking family photos, do I have to? We get it. Formals are important however, we also know how important it is for you to join your friends and family for cocktail hour. It is one of the best parts of the day. We will make sure we capture all of your images and get you to the party!
Do you have backup equipment in case of equipment failure on my wedding day? Equipment is the last thing you will ever need to think about on your wedding day. I always have a minimum of two camera bodies, four flashes, and a bag full of lenses and light stands. Does any of this mean anything to you? No? Good! That is why you are hiring us. We’ve got this.
